The sheet music of three new ‘kingdom songs’ has been leaked to JWsurvey

An anonymous source has contacted JWsurvey with details of three new songs to be released at Watchtower’s 2014 Annual Meeting, which is expected to be held this coming weekend.

Entitled “The Kingdom Is in Place – Let It Come!,” “Grant Us Boldness” and “Jehovah Is Your Name,” the songs underscore the need for Witnesses to be obedient, and to stand firm in the face of opposition.

Also leaked is a personnel list of the six Governing Body committees, including the names of all Governing Body helpers. Helpers are essentially an elite class of bethelite who assist the Governing Body and are thus most likely to become Governing Body members themselves some day (provided they profess to be of the anointed).

The leaked new songs are as follows…

Song A
The Kingdom Is in Place – Let It Come
(Revelation 11:15)

Jehovah, you always have been
And always you will be.
You’ve given the throne to your Son;
He rules by your decree.

The Kingdom has been brought to birth;
His rulership will fill the earth.

CHORUS
For now have come to pass
Salvation and kingdom and might.
The Kingdom is in place.
We pray: “Let it come, Let it come!”

The time for the Devil is short;
We know what this will mean.
Though living in times of distress,
We see the things unseen.

The Kingdom has been brought to birth;
His rulership will fill the earth.

(Repeat chorus)

(See also Dan. 2:34, 35; 2 Cor. 4:18.)

Song B
Grant Us Boldness
(Act 4:29)

As we tell about the Kingdom,
As we witness for your name,
There are many who oppose us,
And who try to bring us shame.

But instead of fearing men,
It’s really you we must obey.
So we beg you now for your spirit,
O Jehovah, hear what we pray.

CHORUS
Grant us boldness as we witness;
Help us overcome our fear.
Give us confidence and courage,
So that all the world may hear.
Armageddon draws ever near,
But until that great day is here,
Grant us boldness as we witness.
This is our prayer.

Even though we may be fearful,
You remember we are dust.
Your assurance to support us,
Is a promise we can trust.

Give attention to the threats
Of those who persecute and blame.
May you help us all to continue
As we boldly speak in your name.

(Repeat chorus)

(See also 1 Thess. 2:2; Heb. 10:35.)

Song C
Jehovah Is Your Name
(Psalm 83:18)

The living and true God
The God of all creation
In every generation
Jehovah is your name.

We’re honored and we’re proud
To be your congregation.
In every tribe and nation,
Your glory we proclaim.

CHORUS
Jehovah, Jehovah, there is no God like you.
There’s no other in the heavens, or on the earth below.
You alone are God Almighty,
And this all men must know.
Jehovah, Jehovah,
We have no other God but you.

You cause us to become
Whatever you desire,
To do as you require
Jehovah is your name.

And witnesses for you
Is what you’ve kindly named us.
We’re honored you have claimed us,
A people for your name.

(Repeat chorus)

(See also 2 Chron. 6:14; Ps. 72:19; Isa. 42:8.)

Noteworthy in Song A is the nod towards Revelation 12:12, where it describes Satan being hurled to the earth in 1914 for a “short period of time” before kingdom rule is established. That 100 years can be considered a short period of time by any stretch of the imagination is one of the most obvious failings of Watchtower’s increasingly embarrassing teaching surrounding 1914, which it continues to cling to in its most recent publications.

Song B seems to be a rallying call against those who “oppose” the organization, and urges obedience in the face of their “threats” (along similar lines to the recent “close ranks” rhetoric). Expect this song to accompany future talks and Watchtower studies that focus on apostates, as Watchtower continues to spread fear and paranoia regarding “those who persecute and blame.”

Song C seems intended to be sung as an anthem invoking pride among Jehovah’s Witnesses in their commission as divine representatives. An intriguing lyric boasts that “in every tribe and nation, your glory we proclaim.” Citizens of Somalia, North Korea and Afghanistan, where there are NO Jehovah’s Witnesses (at least as of 2007), will be curious as to the meaning of this verse.

Governing Body committee information leaked

As previously mentioned, a highly classified document has also been leaked listing by name ALL of the personnel on the Governing Body committees.

I can reveal the contents of the document below, together with quotes to explain the role of each of the committees from page 131 of the latest 2014 “God’s Kingdom Rules!” book…

Coordinators’ Committee

“The brothers serving on this committee oversee legal matters as well as the use of the media when it is necessary to convey an accurate picture of our beliefs. They also respond to disasters, outbreaks of persecution, and other emergencies affecting our brotherhood anywhere in the world.”

Stephen Lett
Anthony Morris
Mark Sanderson
John Ekrann
Robert Wallen

Personnel Committee

“This committee is entrusted with the oversight of arrangements for the physical and spiritual welfare and assistance of members of Bethel families earth wide. It oversees the selecting and inviting of new members of Bethel families and handles questions regarding their Bethel service.”

Gerrit Lösch
Geoffrey Jackson
David Splane
Gerald Grizzle
Patrick LaFranca
Daniel Molchan
Ralph Walls

Publishing Committee

“Those serving on this committee supervise the printing and shipping of Bible literature worldwide. They oversee printeries and properties owned and operated by the various corporations used by Jehovah’s Witnesses, as well as all construction worldwide, including the work of building Kingdom Halls. They arrange for the best use of funds donated for the Kingdom work.”

Samuel Herd
Stephen Lett
David Splane
Don Adams
Robert Butler
Harold Corkern
Donald Gordon
Robert Luccioni
Alex Reinmueller
David Sinclair

Service Committee

“The brothers who make up this committee oversee all areas of the evangelizing work and matters affecting congregations, publishers, pioneers, elders, traveling overseers and missionaries. They supervise, among numerous other things, the activities of Hospital Liaison Committees. They also oversee the preparation of Our Kingdom Ministry.”

Samuel Herd
Gerrit Lösch
Anthony Morris
Mark Sanderson
Gary Breaux
Joel Dellinger
Seth Hyatt
Christopher Mavor
Baltasar Perla
William Turner, Jr.
Robert Wallen
Leon Weaver, Jr.

Teaching Committee

“This committee oversees the instruction provided at assemblies, conventions, and congregation meetings. It also has oversight of Gilead School, the School for Kingdom Evangelizers, the Pioneer Service School, and the Theocratic Ministry School, as well as other schools. In addition, this committee oversees the development of audio and video programs.”

Geoffrey Jackson
Stephen Lett
Anthony Morris
Ken Flodin
William Malenfant
Mark Noumair
David Schafer

Writing Committee

“The brothers serving on this committee supervise the preparation of spiritual food in written and electronic form for fellow believers and the general public. It also cares for the organization’s Web site and oversees the translation work done throughout the earth. Additionally, this committee responds to questions about the meaning of certain scriptures and points presented in the publications.”

Samuel Herd
Geoffrey Jackson
Mark Sanderson
David Splane
Robert Ciranko
James Mantz
Izak Marais
Gene Smalley
John Wischuk

(This list is up-to-date as of September 2014. I intend to update this article in the near future with photos of some of the helpers.)

In all, 36 individuals serve across the six committees, including the 7 Governing Body members. It is interesting to note that only one of the Governing Body members, Gerrit Lösch, doesn’t serve on three committees. The fact that he only serves on two is probably due to his advanced years more than anything.

It is also seems that there might have been some kind of shake-up of the Governing Body committees since 2009, or else the “Bearing Witness” book (published in that year) is in error. It says on page 110 that the Coordinators’ Committee “consists of the coordinators of each of the other committees and a secretary who is also a member of the Governing Body.” This does not seem to be the case according to this leaked information.

Though there is nothing too explosive in this latest series of leaks, it has gone some way to shedding light on the people in the higher echelons of the organization, directly beneath the Governing Body. The fact that this information has surfaced is also an encouraging indication that the Governing Body does not enjoy the unanimous loyalty of all those working in and around the headquarters.

Isn’t it noteworthy how the god almighty gathers people from all over the world, from all different race and colour, to form the upper management of his earthly organization.. except asiates, latinos, blacks, europeans, scandinavians, russians, mostly except anyone outside the US and more specifically outside the NY area.

I guess he just can’t afford the tickets and relocation aid. Losh and Herd must have been able to pay for themselves though.

Looks like one or two of us have been inspired by the new
song book, so for better or worse, here goes.

    A paradise can be yours
But let me make it clearer.
You must keep knocking on the doors
To bring in lots of Lire.

It’s not enough to kneel and pray
    Or love your fellow men.
That’s just something that we say
To keep bringing in the Yen

You may be old and in some pain
    But you must earn salvation.
And if you slack there is no gain
    Think currency of the nation.

A hundred years have come and gone
But soon it’s milk and honey.
So don’t lose hope keep struggling on
    Because we need the money.

( To be sung with a Jaunty Lilt )

It is nice to see a little bit of the fortress waning.

However, the day to celebrate is when there are so many leaks about almost every conceivable topic that a leak about songs and name lists don’t warrant a blog post. The day to celebrate is when the paranoia from all the leaks just leads to further leaks because eyes open from inside the WT on a regular basis.

Perhaps my uncle Jim Candido had a hand in developing the music for those songs as he has conducted the Bethel orchestra in the past. He is retired from the New York Philormonic. I saw him 5 yrs ago after not seeing him for about 7 yrs up to that point at my Dads Funeral. I asked this two faced man to email me some of the pictures of my Dad when he was young so I could show them to his great grand children. There were 4 born since my Dad passed away and one of them Carries on his name. To date my Uncle has neither emailed me or called me to see how I might be doing or send the pictures. In my book this man in the presence of others lied to me about doing the right thing and sending me these pictures. Perhaps he is to busy for family while playing his music. Then again he never had kids and devoted his whole life to touring and a useless cult religion. What a fine display of the Fruitages of the spirit. Not!

I knew Gene Smalley quite well when I was in bethel. Nice guy, but just like most of the people at bethel…weird. He had that same glazed over, catatonic look in his eyes. Most of those people in bethel have this concept that bethel is the ONLY place to be. If a person decides to leave, they will give you the biggest guilt trip and say that if you leave you will not fare well with “the truth.”

@Kat, Thanks for the request. I have not written my Bethel experience yet. I had to get over the pain and loss of family to properly put things in perspective. Every time I read someone else’s story I usually enjoy it. I like you have read a whole lot of good comments here, John is a good host and writer and helps initiate great topics. I would love to hear about a lot of you as well. I hope to some day meet many of you, it would be a delight!

    @ anonymous
Hilarious, I used to sing that tone deaf song as an older sister played the piano in the back of the hall banging on the keys like she was trying to knock them off the piano, it was hideous. Love the song

    @excelsior
Always enjoy your comments, you are a gift to your fellow man.

@Cedars, Thanks for the trip back in time, I had forgot about a lot of these scoundrels. I was so glad to be able to tell the story of Gene to the public, only my wife and my closest friends knew that story and what I have thought about him for the past 20+ years now anyone who wants to can read about it. Thanks

    @ the community,
When I log in I always look here and read all of your comments and what new topic John has worked hard to put together for us. I read all of your comments and with few exceptions enjoy my time here.

May be a little off-topic, but I just read Orwell’s classic “1984”. WOW! This should be read or listened to on audiobook by any who have left this organization. The parallels are tremendous! Even this drivel they call songs seem like something ‘the party of Oceania’ pulled together for the ‘prowls’, so that they can patriotically march on in blind allegence. Bethelites could be pretty much ‘party members’, and these committees could be fashoined into the ‘inner-party members’, and ‘big brother’ is the whole wts leadership machinery.

    @tiger 123,
I agree it’s a good feeling to be able to express
    ourselves honestly and without pretence.

Not all of us have the same ideas about God and
religion, and this is what I value most, we can be
honest about “Ourselves” and not be harangued
( except when some closed minded person comes
on and thinks they can indoctrinate us again.)

I think that after getting free from years of insidious
indoctrination is when you really appreciate a free
mind. It’s something to be valued and protected.

    Very best wishes.

Takes me back a bit to the days when I was thrilled to see a new songbook or new anything. It really wasn’t about the belief system, it was about being a part of something greater than self–a part of a collective, a large mass acting on civilization and working toward a common goal. It was addictive–I ignored the non sequitors and like we see from so many frothing-at-the-mouth defenses of the Watchtower movement, illogical, unconditional obedience to a system of influence.

Closer analysis — which I leave to individuals to discover–shows Song C is severely flawed and based on false historical assumptions.

Song B has lofty ambitions of empowering individuals to fend off the manly apostates and obey “God,” but which God–the Bible’s or the incorporated hierarchy that places extra-biblical mandates on the masses?

Song A, although no specific dates are mentioned obviously derives from the twisted 1914 interpretations over the years. And, since astute students know that 1914 derived from the failed date of 1844, and the beginning of the last days being marked as 1799, it doesn’t even get out of the starting gate for consideration.

Like most Protestant denomination hymnals this has its chords but no charismatic E-flats for emotional heart-string tugs. It would be a surprise if some music for “convention show” went hip-hop or “christian rock,” but these remain stones of stumbling as some link these music forms directly to Satan (there were some Watchtower and Awake ‘zines which lambasted “hip-hop” and “Rap,” even Rock as fox-trotting with Devil–consider this your Watchtower geocache hunt).

A quick scan of the committees (remember I asked, who really is in charge of the insane asylum?) shows Euro-centric male-dominated seats, mostly aligned with deeply conservative “Dig Another Lock through Panama (Arsenic & Old Lace?)” Teddy Jaracz versus a few moderates. There was a deep purge of progressives in the late 1980’s–Ray Franz as one.

Keep your heads down and place the publications, kids.

Hi Ted. I remember too when I first came into the what I thought was the “truth” and being so excited for every new Watchtower wondering what “new” thing was going to be answered in questions to the readers. I came in when Knorr was giving the talks at district assemblies and the speakers didn’t read off a strict script and the talks would go over by an hour sometimes and people would clap for 5 minutes after different things the speakers would say and the same thing for Fred Franz. They were such dynamic speakers and after assemblies, I’d want to go home and immediately pioneer. That is the excitement I felt when I first learned what I thought was the “truth”.

I loved the songs too and would sing really loud but now I look at the songs as emotional “tools” and the talks are all read and quite boring. Witnesses look for something “new” at each assembly, I think, because they become “bored” with the same old, same old. What makes them pioneer now, isn’t because the talks are stirring, but because of the guilt complex laid on them from babyhood on, if they don’t.

I sure wished I had seen the real “truth” when I was young. Hopefully sites like this will help more and more people see what it’s all about before they accept a “free” Bible study from the next Witness who comes to their door so the same thing doesn’t happen to them that happened to us when we were young.

        Francis, welcome to JWsurvey.

Either Jehovah’s Witnesses are true, or they are not true. If they are true, it should be relatively straightforward for you to give evidence of their claims. If they are not true, then they are no more worthy of your time than any other religion. And having established that Jehovah’s Witnesses are not true, it isn’t my duty or anyone else’s to furnish you with a ready-made alternative. Your journey of enlightenment is yours to make and nobody can make it but you, but a good first step would be to recognize that just because Watchtower insists we all need to be in some “organization,” doesn’t necessarily mean that is so.

Olu, just exactly what two types of children exist among the “Jehovist”? What are you talking about when you ask them why they don’t celebrate birthdays? You don’t explain yourself very well. If you can explain yourself a little better, we might be able to “help” you understand why we have a problem with the Jehovah’s Witness religion that most of us have been in for many years.

In your other post when you responded to Cedar’s post, you said that “the first indications of your insincerity is when you can not see the spiritual guidance permeating the entire assembly of worshipers of the Jehovists and when you can not point to an outstanding permanently-positive achievements by the governing agency.”

I don’t know what you meant but the way you worded that sentence is that since Cedars can’t point to any real outstanding permanently-positive achievements by the Governing Body, then he is insincere?

That doesn’t make any sense because that is a question that needs to be answered by you. Can you point to any outstanding permanently-positive achievements by the Governing Body?

Baby, I am so curious. How do you know that the only “truth” is coming from Jehovah’s Witnesses? How do you know it’s not coming from the Mormon religion? Can you prove to us that that God chose the Jehovah’s Witnesses as his one and only true channel?

The “truths” that you have today would have to be the same “truths” that Jesus and Jehovah chose in 1919 as the Society claims what happened in 1919. To say that the truth gets more clear as the light gets brighter is to say that when Jesus chose it in 1919, it wasn’t really truth yet but he could foresee it in the future becoming the truth.

Why would Jesus chose an organization that celebrated birthdays, Christmas, the cross and the worship of Jesus when other churches were condemned for preaching the very same things???

Should I not be “hostile” about a so called Christian religion covering up child abuse? Why don’t you read the comment recently provided on the topic “Watchtower’s new Toy Story, what parents need to know” by a victim of child abuse” from a victim of child abuse in your religion?

What is your opinion on reporting of child abuse? Have you examined the child protection policy of the Jehovah’s Witnesses? Do you think it is right to condemn victims to no justice because of the two witness rule?

You bet I’m angry! There is no justification for this policy and it must change.

So you are only a Jehovah’s Witness through an accident of birth. I would take it from your comment that if you where born a Muslim in a Muslim country you would be saying the same thing about Islam or if you had been born a Jew…..a Buddhist……a Hindu…..a Catholic in Ireland maybe and so on. I would suggest that you look at your life a bit more objectively. Be honest, did Jehovah really draw you to him or was it just blind chance! Something to think about hey! Is it real!
