Having handed in my resignation as an elder letter, I am on a course I hope I will be able to find full recovery and freedom from the years of mind control that had me give up my valuable time from my youth till presently by the false self proclaimed “Theocratic” organization.

Good for you, just remember your God while your out here. The Bible is replete with false religious leaders who discouraged everyone. It also shows that eventually he dealt with them personally. Keep in touch with him.

ILY, that´s a good comment, honestly, I’ve been trying to be a researcher on my own by looking for information about JW organisation that they not mention in any of their magazines and literature. But I must confessed that when I’m looking for all that stuff, I give up by looking for the baptism and I don’t go to the meetings, not going to preaching for a little time, and I realized that I’m having problems to resist the temptations, I start to have immoral thoughts and my behavior is awful, and start let of pray to God and take care for others. In ressume, be an apostate like I am makes me stay far away from God and be a good person. So my resolution is stay with JW AT ALL COSTS, no matter how much “apostate” information I have in mind, I do this because I’d rather be a better person, instead of searching all the mistakes of an organisation, you’r right when you said that no ORG is perfect, but the teachings of the Bible are, I admit that when GB says something that I don’t see match on the Scriptures, I don’t receive that as a “doctrine”. (I’m 23)

My husband loves this site, but I hadn’t really looked at it on my own until just now. I just took the survey and was amazed to see how much I don’t believe in anymore. But, you know, it makes me feel really strong to have my own opinions and, finally, an outside perspective of what I had trouble seeing for so many years. Anyway, thanks for providing a forum for so many who left feeling “lost”.

I left the org or as it was called the “borg” in 1995. I still wrestle with issues and am just now beginning to look into attending a church. It was not easy, but the sacrifice was worth it.

This is most certainly not “Jehovah and his org” you left. Sorry to hear you found sorrow on the outside. Sad to say many do due to the years of emotional and psychological abuses. A number of people can only heal with counseling. You should try that before you rush back into this mind-controlling sadistic cult.

The survey results shown were not questions I answered. Regardless, I’d like to know more about which teachings JW’s did teach (I don’t remember which question that was), and which ones they didn’t. (I’m assuming they taught all of them, otherwise they would not be on there, but I don’t know.) I’m current investigating this religion, outside the Watchtower box, and I’m finding it facinating! Thanks!

Someone has to fill the bill of Ephesians 5:4. You have to have agreement. Jehovah’s Witnesses
    1. Use God’s name extensively
    2. Spearhead the preaching and teaching of the Goodness of God’s Kingdom reference Matthew 24:14
    3. Teach the truth, by anyones standards regarding Bible Doctrine.
Even though they do have a lot of problems, they are the only faith coming as close as anyone can to the truth. As Peter said, where else would I go, “you have the sayings of everlasting life”

When Peter said those words ask yourself the question, Who has the sayings of everlasting life? Peter was referring to Jesus, ” I am the way, the truth and the life”. “You”, he said, “have the sayings of everlasting life”.

That is absolutely true, Peter was talking about Jesus, because he has “the sayings of everlasting life”. Therefore, the next question will be, wich religion or kind of, makes a lot emphasis to show what exactly “sayings” Jesus teached? Answer is at your dispose

Mark, I’d like to address #1 in your comment, about using God’s name extensively and that should prove that Jehovah’s Witnesses are the one and only true religion.

Ask yourself if Jesus’ teachings and the teachings from the Hebrew scriptures are in complete agreement. I am going to put down a list of scriptures comparing what Jesus said as compared to what the Hebrew scriptures taught and you can come to your own conclusion.

Leviticus 21:17 says that anyone with a defect could not approach Jehovah to present the bread but Matthew 21:14 tells us that the blind and the lame came to Jesus and he healed them.

Leviticus 20:10 tells us that the penalty for adultery was death. If a daughter of a priest committed prostitution, she was to be burned (Lev. 21:9) but at John 8:7, Jesus said that who had not committed a sin was to cast the first stone.

Numbers 15:32-36 says that anyone collecting wood on the sabbath was to be killed but in Mark 2:27, Jesus said that the sabbath was made for man and not man made for the sabbath

Leviticus 25:42, says that the Jews were Jehovah’s slaves but John 15:15, Jesus said he no longer called the Jews slaves.

Deuteronomy 19:21 says an eye for an eye but Matthew 6:14 tells us that Jesus said to forgive others their trespasses

Numbers 21:6 tells us that when the Jews complained about being hungry, Jehovah sent in snakes to bite and kill them but at Matthew 7:9,10, Jesus said that what kind of man would give his child a snake when they asked for food.

Acts 10:28 says that Jesus said that the Jews had been told that it was unlawful for a Jew to join himself or approach a man of another race, but Jesus said that nobody was defiled or unclean

Jesus said to the Pharisees at John 8:44 that they were from their father the devil and they wished to do the desires of their father. He was a liar and a murderer and did not stand fast in the truth. Was Jesus in opposition to Jehovah, the God of the Jews’ forefathers, their father? Is that who Jesus was talking about when he said the Jews were from their father?

Jesus is described in the Bible as “light” and 1 John 1:5 says that God is light and there is no darkness in union with him but this is how Jehovah is described as darkness, gloom and dark clouds (1 Kings 8:12, 2 Chronicles 6:1, Psalms 97:2, Genesis 15:12,13, Exodus 20:21).

Were the Israelites led astray and “lost” (Matthew 10:6) because they had followed a false god that showed himself to Moses? Did the devil deceive Adam and Eve and also Moses?

In the Hebrew scriptures, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt to wander in the wilderness for forty years to plunder, steal, lie and destroy and kill anybody or anything that got in their way. (Haggai 2:22, Deut. 20:16-18, 1 Sam. 15:3, 2 Kings 3:19) but what did Jesus say about lying, stealing and killing? “The thief does not come but to steal and slay and destroy but I have come so you can have life (John 10:10)

John 3:8 says that the purpose of the Son of God was to break up the works of the Devil.

Why did not Jesus even one time use the name of Jehovah in the Greek Scriptures? He said he made God’s name known. Was it too holy? The Hebrew scriptures clearly says about Jehovah that besides him, there is no savior (Isa. 43:11, Isa. 49:26, Hosea 13:4)

Was Jesus in conflict with the god of the Hebrews, Jehovah? Was Jehovah in conflict with Jesus? Isaiah 53:10 tells us that Jehovah takes “delight” in the crushing of Jesus. If Jesus was actually Jehovah’s son, would his father, Jehovah take “delight” in crushing him?

    Think about it.

@Mark, you need to ask yourself if Jesus is in opposition to Jehovah, the God of the Jews’ forefathers (John 8:44)

Jesus brought a new covenant which was totally opposite as the Old Law Covenant that was given to the Jews through Moses’ God Jehovah.

Matthew 4:16 describes Jesus as “light” but Jehovah is described as dark clouds and gloom (1 Kings 8:12, 2 Chron. 6:1, Psalms 97:2, Genesis 15:12, 13, Exodus 20:21)

Why did Jesus say that the Israelites were lost sheep (Matthew 10:6) since they were the chosen ones of Jehovah God? Could it be that they were lost because they had been led astray by Moses’ God Jehovah in following Him and His law? Is that why Jesus said of their leaders that their father was the father of the lie and truth was never in him because the Devil deceived Adam and Eve and then deceived the Jews as well through Moses?

Jesus was having an argument with the Pharisees about observing all the requirements of the Old Law Covenant so the Jews were following the law of their God Jehovah so why would they be having an argument with Jesus about observing the laws of the Old Law Covenant, since that law was supposedly given to the Jews by Jesus’ father Jehovah?

In the Hebrew Scriptures Jehovah used Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt into the “promised” land and on the way, the Israelites murdered anybody and destroyed anything that got in their way (Haggai 2:22, Deut. 20:16-18, 1 Sam. 15:3, 2 Kings 3:19) so the Jews learned that it was okay to steal, murder and destroy as long as their God Jehovah said to do it.

What did Jesus say about lying, stealing and destroying? “The thief does not come but to steal and slay and destroy but I have come so you can have life (John 10:10)

Why did not Jesus use the name of Jehovah even one time in the Greek Scriptures? He said he made His name known but not one time does the Bible have Jesus saying the name of Jehovah. The New World Translation inserted it but it is not to be found in any original manuscripts.

The Hebrew Scriptures says about Jehovah that there is no other savior besides him (Isa. 43:11, Hosea 13:4, Isa. 49:26).

Was Jesus in conflict with Jehovah? Isaiah 53:10 says that Jehovah took “delight” in crushing Jesus. If Jehovah was actually Jesus’ father, would He take “delight” in crushing him?

    Think about it.

I have not been in touch with JWs since 1984, when i was publically shamed, labeled a liar and an evil slave for going public with the physical, mental, motional, and sexual abuses i suffered through .

Most of the initials used in this sight are now over my head…i know JW, WT, and GB..everything else….well…leaves me confused and bewildered not having understanding.

When i walked away, i turned my back on everyone and everything.
I buffered my life from the pain the WT inflicted on my psychi.

Now, reading posting blogs other than the “DIVIDE AND CONQURE” blog, i feel bewildered..i dont like feeling i get when i am unable to understand or make sense of things.

Am i alone in feeling this way ??

Keep this in mind. When you left the cult. There was no internet. You were not connected with people all over the world who were going through the same thing. When I walk away 1995-97 the internet was taking off. You my friend are much braver than I am and the people who are leaving now, because you really did it by yourself. You were a real “pioneer”.
      Get it, pioneer?

I left this ridic cult around 95, kind of before much internet. There was some internet, I think I looked up a few things, but for me the bottom line was I just could not deal with being told what to think, that independent thinking was a big no no. I would sit there in the assemblies and they would demonize anyone who had any independent thought as if they were murderers. I just knew I could not live life like that. I couldn’t care less about what my family thinks of me, but I recently got word that my brother may be falling apart. I’m not sure what’s going on really. Maybe he is seeing the financial grab and the hypocrisy? Anyway, I just want to encourage anyone out there, if you are considering leaving, I assure you, there is life after the Watchtower. Once you rid these people of the emotional control they have over you, you will become the person you really are, free to think and be and formulate your own thoughts and opinions and disagree with people. People who emotionally blackmail you aren’t worth keeping in your social circle, they aren’t worth it.

Yes but when you take upon yourself to preach ” when” the end will come ,like youve done in the past and it doesnt happen , you are going against Gods instruction that only HEand no other knows when this will happen ,thus causing you to loose credibility in all your teachings.God is fair with his judgement and he wont punish those who dont believe in your preachings that did not come to be anf were wrong. I have been befuddled as to how so many people can be duped by information control. The name of God is unknown because of a lost language. There is no J in Hebrew. The name Jehovah (Latinized) was hijacked from a Spanish Monk Raymundo Martini (1278 ad). Whatever the name, (rectitude) is indispensable. If one reads the Royal commission 2015, Jehovah’s Witnesses are guilty of a heinous crime child molestation cover up.

When it comes to Jehovah’s witnesses knocking on doors advocating military and political neutrality, one has to ask the question, why have thousands of young men all over world suffered by going to prison only to have the governing Body to change their minds later. Thus, informing them that they really did not have to go to prison (the bible did not and does not support our opinion). If they are neutral why do they have millions invested in Lockheed Martin and Northropgrumman, they make weapon of war, not to mention Hedge funds.
