Welcome to the 2014 Global Survey of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Before you begin, there are a few things we would like to make you aware of. Please read the following carefully, and only proceed once you understand everything…
- This survey is ENTIRELY confidential, meaning that no information that you divulge in answering questions or signing in to the survey will be traced back to you in any way. Therefore, please feel free to answer as many questions as you feel able.
- This survey is NOT approved by the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. We send them the overall results, and it is up to them whether they reply or show any interest in the opinions of the hundreds of current or former Witnesses who take part.
- Please read all questions carefully before answering. If a question is slightly confusing, please read it again carefully before answering rather than guessing what it means. If for any reason there are no suitable answers to fit your opinion, feel free to skip the question and go to the next one.
- Please answer truthfully and honestly, but remember there is no “right or wrong” answer as far as teachings and doctrines are concerned. We are interested in YOUR beliefs and opinions, whatever these may be.

Is item A not a subset of item B?
Item A: Christ appointed Rutherford and his associates to be the “Faithful and Discreet Slave” over his “domestics” in 1919
Item B: most prophecies in Revelation and Daniel for the ‘last days’ fulfilled in early 20th Century
Why was item A added? There are people rejecting B but believe in A?
I would like to clarify my answer about believing in Evolution.
I believe that God can use what ever method he wants to create the world. If he wanted to seed the earth with life and watch it change and grow, that is his right to do so.
Moses may have given us the beginning story. However, that was an answer that the people of the time could relate to. All books in the bible were not meant to be history lessons. Some were written to be read poetically, prophetically, romance, songbooks, inspirational, etc,.
It is in God’s power to create however he sees fit. It is not in my human capacity to pretend I know all of God’s secrets, intentions, and exact actions in the matter.
I am real concern as someone I love so much seem to be totally indoctrinated, my love one is studying and now a non baptized publisher, I am loosing my sleep over this, my love one is refusing to look at the organization history, nor willing to look at the news, my love one is sucked in by all the loves and attention which JW is showering on my love one. My love one stated that there’s nowhere she can go for real happiness. I wish my love one can wake up someday!
I’m sorry to hear that. Looks like she is getting something from the JW’s that you are not giving her. Anyway. Check out the history of all religions on the planet and they all have badness in them. Catholic inquisition, wow! Sorry. JW’s have high standards so your loved one will be a better person in time.

First of all, a mother leaving her children is so disgraceful that a normal person would never respond to that child by saying, “Maybe you’re not giving her (your mother) what she needs”.
You are right by saying all religions are evil. However, not all religions are cults like the JW’s. I have high moral standards and so does my new family, which is why I am glad that my parents didnt want anything to do with me in the end.
Typical JW response to assume that the JWs are in the right.
A cult assumes they are the only good ones. A cult tells you not to talk to your family. A cult controls your moral life or suffer the consequences. A cult tells you to die before taking medical treatment (blood, organs, etc).
All religions have their bad points, but not all are cults. Catholics have been around for around 2,000 years. Some of the books of the bible were originally called “Letters to the Catholics”. The Catholic Church has been around since the Apostle Peter being the first Pope and immediately upon Peters death there was Pope Linus. Catholics are not at all perfect, especially throughout history, but they are the first Christians and deserve respect. The first Christian martyrs that are always mentioned in JW literature are Catholics, not JWs. You try to steal our glory and claim the good in our religion for yourself and then only mention the bad as being Catholic. Catholics sponsor hospitals, missions, soup kitchens, universities, AA meetings…. What fruits do the JWs have? Please recognize the power of Gods people instead of stealing our victories for your own religion.
Really a better person. My son said he did not believe JW but it was a good way of life, and a good way to raise his children. My son is now dead because he was one of Jehovah Witnesses. And my grand children because I choose to no longer be a JW do not speak to me. I am not DFed have done nothing wrong to get DFed for but I have lost my children and grand children to this cult. Are you kidding me encouraging someone to be a JW. Open your eyes, if you are on this site you need to read what is said.
Shunning is one of the biggest problems in the organization. Its used to keep the flock together. Many witnesses would leave if not for shunning. Many can’t bare the thought of loosing their families. I’m one of them.

Hello Tin Foil Hat! IP addresses can be traced to at best a city or region; specific street address needs cooperation of the relevant Internet Provider and a court order. (Except for the NSA I guess, they don’t need judges ;-) but for most people…)
SHUNNING IS A DISRACE. THE BROTHER THAT GAVE ME STUDIES WAS DISFELLOWSHIPPED. AT THE TIME HE HAD OVER 200 BLOOD RELATIVES THAT WERE WITNESSES. HE LOST HIS JOB AND HE FOUND HIMSELF HOMELESS. NOT ONE RELATIVE TOOK HIM IN. HE FOUND HIMSELF PICKING LEFTOVER FOOD SCRAPS FROM TRASH CANS IN THE STREETS OF NYC. AT THE TIME I WAS STILL A JW, BUT I DID KNOW WHAT HE WAS GOING THREW, I LOST TOUCH WE HIM BECAUSE I MOVED TO ANOTHER STATE. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN I WOULD HAVE TRAVELED 150 MILES AND TAKEN HIM IN MY HOME NOT CARING WHAT THE WT NOR WHAT THE ELDERS WOULD SAY. I AM GRATEFULL THAT I AM NO LONGER A JW. THE CRACKS ARE BEGINNING TO SHOW ON THE TOWER. THE SOCIETY IS IN A SPIRAL DECENT. THANKS TO JWSURVEY, THAT WE ARE BEING UPDATED ON IMPORTANT CURRENT INFORMATION.
